Punta Lobos Coastal Expedition in Todos Santos

Explore the Todos Santos coastline by land and sea. This small-group experience combines a coastal hike from Punta Lobos to Puerto Viejo, a boat trip with a local fisherman, and, when ocean conditions allow, snorkeling near the sea lion area.

What the expedition is like

We begin at Punta Lobos with an approximately one-hour coastal hike to Puerto Viejo. Along the way, natural viewpoints offer views of the Pacific and the sea lion colony from above. At Puerto Viejo, the guide carries dry bags for clothes and shoes while we enter the water and meet the boat.

From Puerto Viejo, we travel by boat along the coast toward Las Palmas and return to Punta Lobos. The boat portion takes approximately two hours. If conditions are safe, we may enter the water near the sea lion area. The experience ends with a swim back to Punta Lobos beach. Wildlife encounters and water activities depend on the day’s conditions.

Regular expedition

Book as one person and share the experience with other travelers. $219 USD per person; maximum 6 guests. The full expedition with the boat requires at least 3 paying guests.

BOOK REGULAR EXPEDITION

Private expedition

A complete departure for 1 or 2 guests without waiting for a regular group to form. $749 USD per group, the same price for one or two guests.

A 6% booking fee is added at checkout.

Minimum group size and ocean conditions

You can book a regular departure even if you travel alone or as a pair. If three paying guests have not been confirmed as the departure approaches, you may cover the remaining spots to run the full expedition. If you prefer not to, we will offer hiking and snorkeling at Punta Lobos and refund 50% of your booking value.

Safety determines whether the marine portion can operate. If sea conditions make the boat trip or water activities unsafe, including waves above approximately 1.4 meters, we will offer the hiking-only experience and refund 50% of the booking value. The final decision is based on conditions that day.

Cancellations

Cancel at least 48 hours in advance. Changes caused by ocean conditions or by not reaching the minimum number of guests are handled as described above.
