What To Wear Under A Wetsuit<\/h1>\n

Experienced scuba divers know exactly what wetsuits to use. Taking into account the type and thickness of the wetsuit, the location of the zip, and how the wetsuit fits. And all these factors can easily be learned by a novice.<\/p>\n

The Reasons for Wearing Undergarments<\/h2>\n

What do you wear under a wetsuit? This frequently asked question can be answered simply \u2013 it\u2019s entirely up to you. Deciding what to wear depends on the environment you plan to dive in. And the temperature of the water.<\/p>\n

Opinions are diversified but there are certain factors you should take into account:<\/p>\n

Renting a wetsuit means that other scuba divers have worn it before. So, hygiene will play a part in your decision to wear lycra dive shorts or a bathing suit rather than nothing at all.<\/p>\n

Wetsuits can make skin sore and chaffed in areas where there\u2019s a lot of movement against the skin \u2013 such as your neck and armpits. As well as your undergarments you could apply anti-chafing gel or cream to minimise any wetsuit rash.<\/p>\n

Extra layers keep your body warmer in colder temperatures whether you\u2019re in or out of the water. Thin layers can provide additional insulation without the need for a thicker wetsuit that may be restrictive.<\/p>\n

Some undergarments have UV protection making them ideal for different temperatures during a single dive. And they give an extra defence against scrapes, stings, cuts, and bites.<\/p>\n

Changing in public places is never simple as wetsuits can quickly become hard to take off. Wearing a bathing suit will nullify any decency issues!<\/p>\n

Rash Guards<\/b><\/p>\n

Rash guards and compression shirts for men are ideal for a first layer providing protection from wetsuit chafing. There\u2019s a choice of short or long sleeves \u2013 and the lightweight material makes them ideal for scuba diving.<\/p>\n

Ladies may prefer sleeveless tops that give greater freedom around the arms and shoulders. These vests are made from fine, quick-drying, lightweight materials that are recommended for layering under diving wetsuits.<\/p>\n
