Kin Ha Cenote is as much synonymous with adventure activities as it is with diving and snorkeling. This glorious, water-filled sinkhole is crossed by zip wires and platforms for cliff jumping into the crystal-clear waters of the cavern beneath.

Set below ground level, you get an awesome view of Cenote Kin Ha as you approach from above. The amazing cave and the incredible transparency of the naturally fresh, clear blue waters have to be seen to believed.

Kin Ha is located near Cancun, part of an ecological park with two stunning cenotes right next to each other. Both Kin Ha itself and the open-water Blanca Flora only a short distance away from each offer something different to the visitor. You can zip out into open space along the lines and then jump off for a dip into the always-warm waters below.

If you fancy making a day of it, you can actually visit some of the ten other cenotes which are hidden in various parts of the park. But you will need strong legs and an adventuring spirit to get there as they can be a little off the beaten path!

You will find Kin Ha Park on the Ruta de Cenotes (Cenote Road). If you’re based in either Tulum or Playa del Carmen, take the road north to Puerto Morelos. If you’re in Cancun, again you’re probably best off heading south towards this town.

When you reach Puerto Morelos, head west in the direction of Leona Vicario. The park is around 24 km down the road and is signposted. You will usually switch over to some other kind of transportation at the entrance to the park. Both small buses and ATVs are available for riding or hiring.

Diving into the deeper depths of the Kin Ha cenotes is a lot of fun. This cavern is a particularly good choice if you are a beginner or learning diver looking for a cenote near Puerto Morelos or Cancun which can give you a real taste of what diving in Mexico has to offer. However, if you are an experienced diver, it’s worth noting that there isn’t any true cave diving to be done here.

As always when diving in cenotes, be sure that your bug spray or sun cream is biodegradable to avoid damaging the local ecosystem.

We will provide you with all the necessary equipment for this dive: 5mm wetsuit, boots, fins, mask, BCD or a plate with harness and wing, DIN regulators scuba pro, Hog, aqualung, apex, dive computer, lights and a Go Pro camera.

Classification: you need to have open water diver certification

Snorkelling in Cenote Kin Ha lets you see some of the Yucatan peninsula’s unique rock formations with amazing clarity thanks to the transparency of the water.

High-quality dive equipment rental: full dive gear set and torches
