What to pack for a one-week vacation in Playa Del Carmen

There are two stunning white-sand beaches within 45 minutes of Playa del Carmen. Combine that with the beautiful blue Caribbean Sea. Be amazed at the richness of marine life that you can watch, swim, and dive with. Then there’s the attraction of the Mayan ruins. It’s no wonder that this location has become a significant attraction for tourists in recent years.

So, what to pack for a one-week vacation in Playa del Carmen? Read on…

Clothing

Linen and cotton shorts are light and ideal for hot conditions. As are cotton t-shirts and dresses or trousers. Bathing suits and towels or sarongs for extra cover are essential. And you’ll need an evening outfit. Underwear and socks can be washed out in your accommodation in an emergency but take enough for the week.
A lightweight sweater and scarf are needed if the weather turns chilly. And don’t forget nightwear. A hat will protect your face and neck from the sun. And it’s a great idea to take several pairs of sunglasses in hard cases for beach and town wear.
Get ready for the beach with a beach bag suitable for carrying all your basics.

Footwear

If you plan on doing a lot of walking, you’ll need to take comfortable shoes. Include a pair of trainers, sandals, shoes suitable for the evening, and flip-flops. Wet shoes are highly recommended as they can be worn to protect feet from rocks and sharp stones or sea urchins in the shallows.

Toiletries

Ladies – for your Playa del Carmen vacation try to take travel-sized bottles of cleanser, moisturizer, and hand cream. Remember you’ll be able to buy anything you’ve forgotten when you get there. Take makeup and lip balm with added sunscreen factors. And a mascara that’s waterproof.
Soap, deodorant, and travel-size shampoo and conditioner need to be on the checklist. As do toothpaste (under 100ml) and a toothbrush. Wipes are ideal for freshening up between showers. Factor 50 sunscreen is vital. And if you’re visiting cenotes and jungles, you’ll need a biodegradable option.

First Aid

Pack Imodium, ibuprofen, and aloe vera gel for sunburn. Insect repellent is a must. If you become unwell Emergen-C will rehydrate and give your immune system a boost. Travel packs of tissues are useful. And if you wear contacts don’t forget the solution and the extras. Take sanitary products as needed. And a small bottle of hand sanitizer will prove most useful. Zip lock bags are the perfect packaging.

Miscellaneous

Chargers, plugs, and power adapters will all be required. Mexico doesn’t use the same plugs as in the UK. Easy-read books and a pack of cards will provide additional entertainment. As well as an iPod and phone with earphones. A waterproof camera with extra memory cards will ensure you capture all those precious moments. Pack in a waterproof case.

A reusable water bottle can be invaluable as it’s essential to stay hydrated when it’s so hot. And an insulated travel mug will keep drinks cold for up to 24 hours, and hot for up to 12.

Money and Documents

Playa del Carmen money to bring is best in the form of pesos. If you need to exchange dollars you can do it at a bank or money exchange in the town.
Take passport and travel documents along with copies for customs and hotel book-ins. Don’t forget to arrange your travel insurance.

No Need to Pack Scuba Gear

If you’re planning to go Scuba diving in Playa del Carmen with Koox Diving then don’t worry about packing scuba equipment. All tours and activities come with a wetsuit, neoprene boots, and flashlights. And you’ll even be provided with a GoPro camera to snap all the highlights.
