Koox Diving Have Opened A New Dive Centre In Cancun
It’s official – Koox Diving have opened a new dive centre in Cancun! Did you know that scuba diving in Cancun offers you an amazing range of dive sites where you can swim with turtles, dolphins, and even whale sharks?
Look at the locations where some of the best scuba diving, snorkelling, and cave diving can be found…
Want to swim with the largest living fish on the planet? The whale shark – known as the gentle giant – will give you an insight into the important role they play in the ecosystem and the need to conserve these wonderful creatures. Whale sharks are extremely intelligent and don’t present any danger, and often allow divers to interact with them.
Whale shark tours in Cancun take around two hours and are truly breath-taking. They’re arranged every day from June to September, depending on the weather, and the seasonal gatherings of the whales. Full snorkelling equipment will be provided – along with a guide!
Isla Contoy is a natural reserve and a protected uninhabited island – with only 200 people a day permitted to enter. This small island is only 5.3 miles in length and is protected by the Mexican government.
Only a few tour companies have permission to bring visitors and Koox Diving is one of them. You’ll find four species of turtle nesting on the beaches, and the reserve is a sanctuary to approximately 152 tropical marine birds. An all-inclusive tour of Isla Contoy lasts from 8.00 am until 2 pm – the meeting point is Marazul Cancun.
Caribbean Sea waters are warm and crystal clear – making them the perfect habitat for a vast range of marine life. The second-largest reef in the world stretches all along the Yucatan peninsula and is visited by stingrays, turtles, moray eels and an endless variety of tropical fish.
The shallower areas are ideal for snorkelling, and your guide will show you all the hidden special spots where you can best enjoy a calm swim alongside a stunningly colourful underwater life.
Cave diving in Riviera Maya lets you explore the underwater beauty of Mexican caves – giving you the opportunity to discover all the history preserved in every corner. You’ll be guided by world-famous cave dive explorers and provided with all the equipment needed. Check out the Koox Diving website for more details.
The Yucatan peninsula also has amazing cenotes – water-filled sinkholes that provide an extraordinary diving experience. Cenote Tajma Ha has magnificent lighting effects and the most beautiful decorative interior, and Cenote Dos Ojos is another highly sought-after diving location.
If you don’t have any diving qualifications you can visit Cenote Chikin Ha – a welcoming dive in a very open cavern. Cenote tours cover a single dive, two or three dives, and an optional night dive.
The Nichupte Lagoon is located on the east coast of Cancun and is a natural paradise for a mangrove ecosystem. This stunning nature reserve has seven beautiful lagoons and a winding network of canals. The wildlife includes birds, turtles, iguanas, caiman, and tree-dwelling mammals.
You’ll be able to share a magical tour with kayaking professionals – tours all start from a meeting point in Cancun. And you can choose from morning, lunch, or sunset options lasting from one and a half hours up to three hours for a Kayak Eco Tour.
You can also enjoy paddleboard tours in the Nichupte Lagoon with guides to help you master the art on your custom-made paddleboard. Delight in the peace and tranquillity of the mangrove forests under azure skies.
The cost of a tour includes two hours paddling with a guide, board rental, photos, and bottles water. Every paddleboard is supplied with a paddle, ankle strap, whistle, and personal flotation safety device.
This water sport combines windsurfing, surfing, snowboarding and paragliding all in one! You’ll get a professional kiteboarding instructor to teach you all the basics and ensure you have the greatest fun.
Lessons for beginners come in three-hour morning or afternoon sessions. Intermediate lessons can cover two days lasting six hours, and advanced practices cover three days and a total of nine hours.
All lessons are private and include equipment, transportation, drinks, snacks, and an official certificate.
Visit the MUSA underwater museum – just one of the Cancun tours highlights. You’ll discover almost 500 statues and artwork that have been positioned on the sea bed.
Where the artificial reef has begun to grow, artists Karen Salinas Martinez, Julian DeCaires, Roberto Diaz Abraham, and many more have contributed to the array of people and animals. This unique dive isn’t very demanding but the rewards are plenty.
